FAQS

A cloud server leasing service (also known as 'server rental') is a service that allows users to lease one or more servers from a service provider, instead of having to buy and manage those servers themselves.

When leasing a server, users will be provided with part or all of that server's resources, including processor, memory, disk drive and network connection. Users can use this server to run applications, store data or provide services on the Internet.

If you are a new customer, you can sign up for a vServer trial by contacting VietStack or clicking on the 'Start trial' button at the top of the page.

Please contact VietStack for technical support:

VietStack accepts multiple payment methods, including:

  • Internet banking
  • E-wallets: ZaloPay, Momo,...
  • Credit cards: Visa, MasterCard.

VietStack suggests the Polaris WAF+DDoS solution. Furthermore, our data center is equipped with inherent DDoS protection solutions at both the Basic and Advanced levels for the infrastructure. You can refer to the vColo DDoS documentation for more details.

VietStack still applies costs for the HDD storage associated with customer data, while there are no charges for CPU and RAM when the virtual server is turned off.

The timeframe varies based on the VM's operating system. For Windows, the boot-up process typically takes approximately 15 minutes, while for Linux, it usually takes around 2 minutes.

Currently, VietStack provides both services under the names vLB and FW on the MarketPlace:

  • Application LB: Referred to as vLB - available as LBaaS and supporting both L4/L7.
  • Application Firewall: Customers using VPC (with L4 Firewall functionality) have free access to it by default.

At present, these two services are not included in the vServer service package. For the Marketplace Firewall, you will be charged for the license fees of Fortinet and Checkpoint.

Yes, VietStack's design closely parallels 100% of AWS VPC and Security Groups.

You can remotely manage the vServer through 3 methods:

  • Direct console via a browser (HTTPS).
  • Using the Remote Desktop protocol.
  • Through SSH (using either a Password or SSH key pair, similar to AWS).

At present, VietStack does not provide Public Domain service. You can consider using these services from third-party domain providers, such as MatBao.

After you have purchased a domain from a Public Domain Service Provider (e.g., VietStacklab.xyz), you will have a control panel to manage this public domain (commonly known as the Control Panel Domain).

Once you have created a cloud server on VietStack, that virtual server will be assigned a Public IP address (e.g., 1111.222.333.444). If you wish to link the domain VietStackLab.xyz to the IP: 111.222.333.444, you’ll need to declare Record A in the Control Panel Domain, directing it to the public IP of your cloud server on VietStack.

As a cloud computing service provider, VietStack is responsible for backing up its entire infrastructure. Therefore, allowing larger default volume sizes would increase the investment cost for the entire infrastructure.

For an average customer, a default volume size of 1TB is already quite substantial, catering to most customer needs and optimizing VietStack's infrastructure operations. If customers require volume sizes larger than 1TB, we will provide support on a case-by-case basis.

PSimilarly to Question 13, the cap of 3000 IOPS effectively addresses the needs of most applications within our existing customer base, including SMEs, while also ensuring the backend cloud infrastructure's stability. Should a customer need more than 3000 IOPS, VietStack is able to provide support on an individual basis.

Yes, VietStack provides support on a case-by-case basis, which takes approximately 5 working days. We will consider adding RHEL Enterprise to the backlog for future inclusion in the list of supported OS options.
